• Your First Year

  In this meta-major, your general education courses serve as a foundation to your major. You'll have time to explore various subject areas so that you can land on the right major for you. Use the foreign language requirement to explore a global perspective. Think about a First-Year Experience course aligned with this meta-major. 

  A typical first-year schedule can include courses on topics like:

  • First-Year Experience.
  • introductory writing.
  • foreign languages.
  • history, humanities and social sciences.
  • natural sciences.

  These general education courses are important to help you discover new areas of interest and test out a particular major. They also keep you on track so you're meeting your degree requirements.
• Math Pathways

  Majors that fall into the arts, humanities and social sciences meta-major are not math-intensive. You'll typically need two courses - six credit hours - of math. And, you will have a list of math areas to choose from.  Students in this meta major do not necessarily need to enroll in math in their first semester/year in order to stay on progress toward degree.

  Certain majors like arts management, philosophy and psychology have specific math requirements. You'll want to talk to your advisor to select the best courses and timing for you.

• Gain a Global Perspective

  Taking your education abroad builds intercultural skills and gives you a broader perspective on your major. The College ranks  in study abroad and  duration (semester programs) among all Master's Level Colleges & Universities.

  You can gain a global perspective on your major through a variety of programs that are offered over spring break, the summer, or for a whole semester.
