Applying as a Transfer Student
You will apply using the Transfer application if:
- you graduated from high school and have taken courses at a college or university
- you have served in the military
- you already earned a bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college and are seeking a second bachelor’s degree

Select the "Transfer/Second Degree/Readmit" option (ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø application) or "Apply for Transfer" (Common App) to begin your application.
Students who have completed 12+ hours of college credit
- Transfer Application (ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø application or Common App)
- Official transcripts: Offical Transcripts are required from all colleges or universities you have previously attended. Unofficial transcripts may be used for admission purposes. We encourage you to upload your unofficial transcripts when submitting your application.
- Application Fee: You will be prompted to pay your $60, non-refundable application fee when submitting your application.
Optional Materials: You may also wish to submit additional information for the admissions committee to consider. You can email us with any supporting documents such as letters of recommendation, resume or other supplemental information. Be sure to include your full name, birth date and ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø ID number, if available.
Students who have completed less than 12 hours of college credit
- Transfer Application (ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø application or Common App)
- Official transcripts: Offical Transcripts are required from all colleges or universities you have previously attended. Unofficial transcripts may be used for admission purposes. We encourage you to upload your unofficial transcripts when submitting your application.
- Application Fee: You will be prompted to pay your $60, non-refundable application fee when submitting your application.
- Final High School Transcripts: Transfer students who have fewer than 12 college-level credit hours must provide a transcript from each high school attended. Transcripts must be sent directly to the College by each high school through a secure transcript-submission service like Parchment, SCOIR or eDocs.
- Mid-Term Grades: Transfer students who have fewer than 12 college-level credit hours must provide mid-term grades for courses in which they are currently enrolled.
You may submit a screenshot of your student portal with midterms. All screenshots must include the student name, the school name and the names/midterm grade(s) of all work in progress.
- Optional Materials: You may also wish to submit additional information for the admissions committee to consider. You can email us with any supporting documents such as letters of recommendation, resume or other supplemental information. Be sure to include your full name, birth date and ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø ID number, if available.
Readmit Students
- Transfer Application (ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø application or Common App)
- Application Fee: You will be prompted to pay your $60, non-refundable application fee when submitting your application.
- Official transcripts: Offical Transcripts for any coursework you completed since previously attending the ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø.
- Personal Statement: Your statement discussing your activities since leaving the ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø and why you would like to return.
Readmit students should meet the transfer GPA recommendation (2.4 or greater).
If you left the College with less than a 2.0 GPA and you are conditionally readmitted, you will be required to complete the STEP Program, a one-day workshop that will help you succeed upon your return.If you previously attended the College as a provisional student but did not meet the program conditions, you are required to complete 30 credit hours at another institution before applying for readmission.

Transfer Credits
The ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø accepts up to 90 semester credit hours from regionally accredited 4-year institutions and up to 66 credit hours from 2-year institutions.
A course from another institution is elgible for transfer credit evaluation when the course is:- earned at a school accredited by a regional accreditation association.
- graded at least a "C" (2.000 on a 4.000 scale).
- not a duplication of credits alreadly earned.

Scholarships and Financial Aid
S.C. Transfer Grant
South Carolina transfer students who enter with an Associates's Degree from a South Carolina 2-year institution will be considered for a $2,500 merit scholarship for up to 2 years.Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)

Honors College
When you submit your transfer admission application, you can also apply to the Honors College.
Transfer applicants interested in the Honors College will need to submit a supplemental Honors statement of intent on their transfer application.
Your statement should be 250-500 words and should cover the following:
- why you believe you are a good fit for the Honors College.
- why you have decided to leave your current/previous school(s).
- what you hope to gain from participating in the Honors College.

Congratulations! Once you're admitted, there are just a few more steps to take on your way to officially becoming a Cougar:
- Submit your Enrollment Deposit:

- Apply for Housing
To be considered for housing as a transfer student, you must submit your enrollment confirmation, pay the housing application fee and complete the housing application.
ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø is a vibrant city, and we're right in the center of it. While on-campus housing for transfer students can be limited, we can provide you with resources to help you find a nearby place to call home.
- Register for Orientation
The College provides dedicated orientation sessions for transfer students. You can sign up for orientation through the "Orientation Registration & Confirmation" tile in MyPortal.
- Submit your Final College Transcripts
Submit all official, final college transcripts. Official transcripts are sent directly to the ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø from your previous college or institution.
