Program Prerequisites
Eligible Applicants
Bachelor of Professional Studies (BPS) applicants must:
- Be at least 21 years old OR hold an associate's degree
- Have earned a high school diploma (or its equivalent)
Recommended Foundational Coursework
We recommend that prospective students have completed at least 30 credit hours of coursework in the following:
Oral and Written Communication (6-7 credit hours)
- English Composition (ENGL 101, 102, OR 110)
- Public Speaking (COMM 104 or equivalent)
Humanities and Fine Arts (6 credit hours)
- Art History/Music App/Theatre/Philosophy/Religious Studies/Ethics/Literature (Choose two courses from two different disciplines within the approved general education humanities.)
History (3 credit hours)
- History-U.S./European/World (choose one) We suggest HIST 201 OR 202.
Social and Behavioral Sciences (6 credit hours)
- Psychology/Sociology/Anthropology/Political Science/Economics or Geography (Choose two courses from two different disciplines within the approved general education social science subject at any level.) We suggest ANTH 101, ECON 200, SOCY 102 OR POLI 101.
Natural Science/Mathematics (12 credit hours)
- Chemistry/Physics/Biology/Astronomy or Geology (choose one subject - lab not required)
- Statistics (MATH 104 or MATH 250)
- One additional MATH course
- An additional 3 credit hours to be fulfilled by an additional math (MATH 110 or higher), natural science, personal finance, or logic course (PHIL120).
NOTE: An A.A./A.S. from a South Carolina technical college meets all of the above program prerequisites.
Our most successful students complete these courses prior to admission. However, opportunities are available for students to complete these courses after admission.

S.C. Technical College Graduates
Streamline your path to a four-year degree!
If you graduated with an Associate of Arts (A.A.) or Associate of Science (A.S.) degree from a , you are guaranteed to receive a minimum of 60 transfer credit hours and junior class status. You may also waive all program prerequisites for declaration of the Bachelor of Professional Studies (B.P.S.) degree.
Associate Degree recipients are also eligible for a Transfer Merit Scholarship.

Military and Veteran Students
Military Credits
The ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø accepts military credits. You may earn up to 66 transfer credits from your Joint Services Transcript (JST) or up to 60 credit hours from the Community College of the Air Force (CCAF) transcript. Students admitted or readmitted will have their JST evaluated for potential transfer credit.

DSST
The ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø also accepts DANTES Subject Standardized Tests (DSST) credit.
Subject matter covered by DSST includes Mathematics, Social Sciences, Business, Physical Science, Technology and Humanities.

Applying to the Bachelor of Professional Studies program can be done entirely online!
- Choose the Bachelor of Professional Studies Application.
- Upload unofficial transcripts from all previous colleges to expedite application processing.
- Start in one of six terms per year.
- No application fee required.
