Meet the Dean

A deep commitment to student success anchors Dean Jason Coy's vision for the School of Humanities and Social Sciences.

Since joining the ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø twenty years ago, Dr. Coy has drawn praise for his effective leadership as well as for his highly regarded research and engaging classes as a professor of history. Prior to his appointment as interim dean, he served as chair of the History Department.

Dr. Coy says students in the School of Humanities and Social Sciences develop a skill set that equips them to overcome challenges in our rapidly changing world. He believes that these essential skills, centered around research, analysis, and effective communication, provide HSS graduates with the cultural awareness and information literacy needed to provide leadership as they face today’s challenges. The skills and abilities HSS students gain also prepare them to launch rewarding careers in a wide range of emerging fields in the public and private sectors.

I am excited to help the School of Humanities and Social Sciences continue to move forward and to assist our students, faculty, and alumni in reaching their goals.

Jason Coy, Dean, School of Humanities and Social Sciences
