In line with CETL's mission for excellence in teaching and learning and to provide collaborative support to all faculty members, CETL offers a variety of faculty development opportunities throughout the year.  

Professional Development Opportunities


Visit the Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning Hub site and calendar for resources and opportunities for professional development (ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø credentials required).
  • Advanced Pedagogy Workshops

    Content and resources for mid-career and senior faculty.

  • Certificate Programs

    Faculty development for a year or two that delves deeply with focused attention on one area with a certificate earned at the completion of each program's requirements.

  • CETL EdFest

    A week of faculty development opportunities offered through CETL in collaboration with various divisions and initiatives across campus. 

  • Faculty Retreats

    Dedicated supportive and nurturing opportunities four times a year to focus on writing projects or course (re)design.

  • New Faculty Orientation & Institute

    A one-day New Faculty Orientation and a two-year monthly New Faculty Institute to learn about best practices and opportunities for developing excellence in teaching and learning at the College.

  • Partners in Peer Review

    Opportunity for all faculty to request and receive research-based peer review of instruction.

  • Small Group Learning

    Small groups of faculty meet in professional learning communities for a semester or more around a specific topic to enhance their teaching practices and meet students' learning needs.
