The School of Education offers many scholarship opportunities to its students. All applications for Teacher Education scholarships must be completed through the Cougar Scholarship Awarding System (CSAS). Scholarships are available for both undergraduate and graduate students. It is highly encouraged students complete a FAFSA as a companion to the scholarship application.

The Bank of America Endowed Scholarship
The Bank of America Endowed Scholarship in the School of Education is being established by Bank of America to assist students at the ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø intending to enter the teaching profession. The scholarship will be used to recruit and retain outstanding students planning to major or minor in Education. Scholars will be selected based on academic merit with preference given to those with financial need. The scholarship is renewable for a total of four academic years provided they are enrolled as full-time students and continue to meet the academic standards established by the School of Education.

Dorie and George Spaulding Endowed Scholarship
Candidates must display a passion for any major within the School of Education. They must demonstrate care and compassion for others (e.g. volunteer work that is not required). Candidates must have previous employment experience and submit an essay that describes their financial need for the scholarship and both their personal long and short-term goals. GPA and class standing will be considered.

Dr. Monica A. Janas Memorial Scholarship
The recipient of this scholarship is enrolled in the teacher education program. The student must demonstrate financial need, maintain full-time status and maintain at least a 3.0 cumulative GPA.

Scholarship for students intending to major in teacher education. Preference for students from an underrepresented group.

Lucy Garrett Beckham Memorial Endowed Scholarship
The fund provides scholarships to students who have graduated from Wando High School intending to pursue a degree in teaching and have a demonstrated passion for teaching. An essay is required as part of the application.

Mark & Judy Buono Endowed Scholarship
Recipients are students majoring in education who exhibit academic achievement, dedication to their future field, and demonstrate financial need. The student must be a rising junior or senior or an incoming graduate student at the College and must maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0. The scholarship may be renewed for up to one year if requirements continue to be met.

Nancy Limehouse Morrow '73 Scholarship
The recipient of this scholarship will meet the following qualifications: is a South Carolina resident; declared major in the School of Education; and has financial need. The scholarship is renewable depending on recipients’ continuing academic performance as designated by the College.

This fellowship is for a student majoring in Special Education.

Sharon Stella Holbert Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to a junior or senior student who is an Elementary Education major. Requirements are based on academic merit, extracurricular activities, and work accomplished toward the major. First preference is given to students from Northwestern High School in Rock Hill, SC, who demonstrate satisfactory academic performance and community involvement. Second preference is given to students from York County, South Carolina.
It is a bonus, but not a requirement, for the recipient to also be a member of the Chi Omega sorority. Recipients may renew the scholarship provided they continue to meet the criteria.

The recipient is a junior education major from South Carolina. The funds are renewable for senior year if the requirements are still met.

Elizabeth R. Reid Memorial School of Education Endowed Scholarship
The recipient of this scholarship is a rising sophomore, junior or senior in any major in the Teacher Education program, is a South Carolina resident with a minimum cumulative 3.0 GPA.
Preferences is given to a Fairfield County resident, followed in preference for a Chester County or Newberry County resident. Other preferences to be considered: undergraduate or graduate degree students majoring in education; student-athletes or students who participate in intramural activities; ROTC or veteran students.

Fran Welch Teacher Education EndowedScholarship
The recipient of this scholarship is a minority student majoring in teacher education. Preference to students who are SC residents, are an active participant in Call Me MiSTER, and hold a 2.8 GPA or higher.
The scholarship is renewable for the recipient as long as he or she maintains the requirements listed above.

Inspiring Teachers Scholarship
This scholarship provides aid to minority students majoring in Teacher Education. Recipients must demonstrate financial need, maintain an overall GPA of 2.75 or higher, and completed or be currently enrolled in the course EDFS 201 Foundation in Education Preferences.

Jeremy Warren Vann Memorial Scholarship
Up to five students may be awarded during the semester when they complete their clinical internship. Graduate or undergraduate students who are enrolled in an initial certification program in Teacher Education are eligible. Students should demonstrate financial need and academic merit. Preference to South Carolina residents.

This scholarship will be awarded to undergraduate students majoring in Elementary or Early Childhood Education who have completed at least one early childhood or elementary education course. Candidates must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5. When evaluating applications for this scholarship, a student’s capability to effectively work with young children, commitment to working in early childhood education and financial need will be considered.
Preference is given to SC resident who demonstrates financial need.

This scholarship is intended for a student who must be a declared education major with a minimum GPA of 3.0. The scholarship is renewable as long as the student maintains the requirements.
Preference will be given to a minority, male undergraduate majoring in middle school education; preference to a ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø resident, and preference to students with financial need.

This scholarship is for students majoring in teacher education within the School of Education. Eligible students must be in their senior year clinical internship and demonstrate financial need according to the Office of Financial Aid and Veterans Affairs. Preference will be given to a male student or a student majoring in special education or elementary education.

Recipients must be Teacher Education majors who are rising seniors preparing for their clinical internship semester. Preference is given to students who demonstrate financial need, are students of color and have a 3.0 GPA or higher.

The scholarship recognizes an outstanding first-year graduate student in Early Childhood Education (Master of Arts in Teaching). Scholarship recipients are selected based on academic performance, work experience in the field and community and campus involvement. The scholarship is renewable for up to two years for students who continue to meet the criteria.

Henry and Sylvia Yaschik Foundation Endowed Scholarship
The scholarship supports an under-represented male or female student in the Teacher Education Program or Master of Arts in Teaching with financial need and a strong academic record. The recipient must plan to teach in South Carolina.

NSCDA-SC Teaching of History Scholarship (Colonial Dames)
This is an annual scholarship for two students pursuing a Master of Arts in Teaching Elementary Education. Two scholarships will be awarded each year; one following the spring semester and one following the summer class. Special consideration will be given to students who participate in projects sponsored by the National Society of Colonial Dames of America in the state of SC.
