Bringing world-class artists to the heart of historic ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø.

The ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø's International Piano Series is ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø's longest-running piano series. The series brings world-class artists to campus for inclusive and welcoming concerts in the historic Sottile Theatre, celebrating artistic excellence and the power of live music. The artists also lead public masterclasses that inspire our student performers and inform the audience.

2025-2026 Season


The 35th season of the International Piano Series features the following four artists; concerts take place in the historic Sottile Theatre at 7:00pm.
  • Wei-Yi Yang (Oct. 21)

    The IPS season opens with a concert by Wei-Yi Yang. This performance is made possible by the generous support of the Remington Master Artist Series.

    Gold medalist at the San Antonio International Piano Competition and Professor of Piano at Yale School of Music, "has received worldwide acclaim for his captivating performances and imaginative programming"

  • Richard Goode (Nov. 18)

    is one of the finest pianists in the world. Few can match his unfailingly beautiful tone, effortless technical command, interpretive insight and total emotional commitment to the music he plays."   • Drew Petersen (Feb. 3)

    created a splash in ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø when he filled in at the ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø Symphony Orchestra for two dazzling performances of Rachmaninoff's Third Piano Concerto this season. Audiences will be excited to hear from this artist again in the more intimate piano recital setting. He is an Opus 3 artist, a recipient of the 2018 Avery Fisher Career Grant and winner of the 2017 American Pianists Award.

  • Christopher Goodpasture (April 7)

    As the winner of the 2020 NY Concert Artist Worldwide Debut Auditions and the 2019 Astral Artist National Competition in Philadelphia, has given recitals in the world’s most important halls and festivals. Goodpasture is currently teaching at the Interlochen Arts Academy, one of the most prestigious schools for gifted high school students in the country.

    All attendees must obtain tickets (free or paid). 

    •  are $120 for adults and $25 for CofC students, faculty and staff.
    •  are $38 for adults and $10 for CofC students, faculty and staff.

    Each year, the International Piano Series brings world-renowned pianists to ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø to perform in the historic Sottile Theatre and to mentor the next generation of musicians. These artists don’t just perform — they teach, inspire, and challenge our students in masterclasses that are also open to the public.

    Your support keeps this extraordinary program alive. Because the series is funded solely through donations and ticket sales, every gift helps sustain world-class performances and creates transformative learning experiences for our students.

    The series is entirely self-supporting and is reliant on ticket sales and philanthropy. It is nested within the music department, School of the Arts, and the ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø, which is an independent, not-for-profit 501(c)(3) state university.
