2) Register for Honors College Housing
All first-year Honors College students receive priority placement in Berry Residence Hall, the home of the Honors College Living Learning Community.
During the first week of June, Campus Housing will contact all incoming Honors College students with details about how you can select a room in Berry Hall before the regular room selection process begins.
To make sure you are eligible for early-access selection of Berry Hall, be sure to:- Submit your ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø enrollment deposit.
- Submit your Housing Application through MyPortal (here's how to apply for housing!).
- You will be contacted by Campus Housing in early June with instructions on how to pick a room in Berry Hall.
Other Tips
- You must submit your housing application by May 1 at 11:59 p.m. EST to be guaranteed freshman year housing.
- You do not need to indicate your preference for Berry Hall when you complete your Housing Application. Campus Housing will automatically contact you in June about living in Berry Hall by virtue of your being in the Honors College.
- Looking for a roommate? Introduce yourself to your future classmates on the official Honors College Class of 2029 GroupMe chat.
- Honors College students who wish to live in Berry Hall select first. (If you are in a roommate group with fewer than 50% Honors students, you will select in the next phase.)
- Honors ELLC students are assigned rooms and do not participate in the room-selection process.
- ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø Fellows are required to live in Berry their first year.
Honors College students can request to live with non-Honors students in Berry Residence Hall, but note that the availability of those spots is very limited. If your preference is to live in the Honors College residence hall, it is highly recommended that you avoid requesting a non-Honors College roommate.
Honors College students who do not wish to live in Berry Residence Hall will select their room through the College's regular room selection process. The order for that process is determined based on the date you complete your housing application. -
3) Register for an Honors-preferred orientation session
To ensure that you are effectively mentored and registered for fall courses, we set aside spaces at select orientation sessions to accommodate incoming Honors College students. For a smooth transition, we strongly recommend you attend of of the Honors College-preffered sessions.
If none of the Honors College-preferred sessions work for your schedule, please email us at honors@cofc.edu to let us know.
