About the School

The School of Health Sciences, located in the heart of ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø, provides a dynamic educational environment. Our dedicated faculty utilize cutting-edge instructional technology and practices to challenge students in the classroom, fostering critical thinking and real-world application of course content. Proximity to the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) and the city's burgeoning biotech industry offers our students ample opportunities for experiential learning through internships, shadowing, and research.

ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø’s vibrant outdoor scene—with its parks, trails, and beaches—provides the perfect backdrop for an active and health-focused lifestyle. The School of Health Sciences includes the Department of Applied Exercise Science (AEXS), which houses the B.S. in Exercise Science, and the Department of Public Health Sciences and Administration (PHSA), which offers majors in Public Health (B.S. and B.A.), Health Services Administration & Management (B.S.), and a minor in Health Informatics.

We also offer PALM courses that promote health and activity for all students, along with a range of experiential learning opportunities including research, study abroad programs, internships, and student organizations.
