Paul Steadman, AAI, ARM, AU, CIC '83
Paul Steadman is the president and chief executive officer of an insurance and risk management firm. The company, founded in 1897, has offices in ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø and Walterboro, SC. Steadman joined the family business in 1986, became president in 1997, and purchased the firm in 2001.
Within the insurance industry, he has served on the board of directors of The Independent Insurance Agents & Brokers of SC and the Independent Insurance Agents & Brokers of Greater ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø. He attained the CIC, ARM, AAI, AU professional designations.
Steadman serves on the board of directors of the Medical University of SC Children’s Hospital Fund. He also serves on the Gavalas Kolanko Foundation, an organization that provides scholarships for college students with physical disabilities. He was a founding member of the ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø Alumni Advisory Board of the School of Business & Economics. He is a member of the Board of Governors at the ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø School of Business, where he chairs the Continuing and Professional Education Committee. He is a founding board member of Beacon Community Bank in ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø
He is a 1983 graduate of the ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø, with a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration. As a guest lecturer in several insurance-related courses offered by the ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø School of Business, Steadman enjoys interacting with students and serving the needs of the School.
He has been happily married to his wife, Cheryl, for 37 years. They have two children, Chelsea and Palmer, both ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø graduates.
