Jewish Studies is an interdisciplinary program that focuses on more than just academics. We offer robust programming to support Jewish student life and community outreach.

The ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø seeks a dynamic scholar, instructor, and leader at the associate or full professor rank to become Director of the Yaschik/Arnold Jewish Studies Program, a premier program of its kind in the southeast.

We are also seeking a dynamic and dedicated Hebrew Instructor with demonstrated excellence in teaching Modern Hebrew as a world language. The ideal candidate will also be interested and credentialed to teach interdisciplinary courses that expand our current offerings in the liberal arts.

Undergraduate Programs


The Jewish studies major and minor at the College emphasizes the varied and complex aspects of the Jewish experience. Through Jewish Studies coursework, you gain the writing and thinking skills necessary to become a global citizen. You'll develop an understanding of the historical, religious, philosophical, literary, sociological and linguistic components that constitute the Jewish culture.

Academics

Interested in learning about Israeli politics, Jewish resistance during the Holocaust, Jewish comedy and film, Jews in the American South or Jewish mysticism? We offer a wide variety of courses that pair well with other majors and satisfy general education requirements.
