Anthony Varallo
Professor and Director of the Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing
Anthony Varallo is the author of What Did You Do Today?, winner of the Katherine Anne Porter Prize in Short Fiction, forthcoming from the University of North Texas Press in Fall 2023. His other books include a novel, The Lines, ( ) as well as four previous short story collections: (University of Iowa Press), winner of the John Simmons Short Fiction Award and finalist for the Paterson Fiction Prize; (University of Pittsburgh Press), winner of the Drue Heinz Literature Prize; (Northwestern University Press/TriQuarterly Books), finalist for the Balcones Fiction Prize; and (Elixir Press), winner of the Elixir Press Fiction Award. He has received an NEA Fellowship in Literature, and his stories have appeared in over one hundred literary magazines and journals. He joined the Department of English at the ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø in 2005, where he teaches in the .
