Through a major in elementary education, you can learn how to have an impact on your community. You can become a classroom instructor or an education administration. You may also consider working outside the classroom with nonprofit organizations or in social work.

It also strengthens your connection with the community. The ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø is accredited by the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP).

What will I learn?

Elementary education provides you with the opportunity to learn skills to make a difference. You will study topics like classroom management and how to instruct all learners. You will also learn essential teaching pedagogy and methodology. You'll be prepared for a successful career inside or outside of the classroom.

  • Hands-On Learning

    Our program utilizes hands-on learning through multiple classroom field experiences. You will observe and interact with instructors and students. You'll develop your practical knowledge of elementary education.

  • Internships & Clinical Experience

    The School of Education offers students a variety of internship opportunities. You will complete a student-teaching clinical experience in the second semester of your senior year.

Careers & Outcomes


Elementary education graduates may teach the second through the sixth grades. Recent students hold lead teaching positions locally and nationally. Our graduates also have the foundation to pursue a career in education administration or social work.
