Avery Research Center for African American History and Culture
The ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø's Avery Research Center for African American History and Culture collects, preserves and promotes the unique history and culture of African American experience in ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø, the Lowcountry, South Carolina and the African Diaspora. The Avery Research Center evaluates, acquires, organizes, preserves and makes available materials for ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø students, faculty, administration and the public. Additionally, the Avery Research Center develops and hosts exhibitions, public programs and trainings that encourages audiences to understand history as well as current issues. To prepare for the next generation of cultural heritage professionals, the Avery Research Center provides experiential learning opportunities for undergraduate and graduate students.
Marine Resources Library
The Marine Resources Library is primarily used for graduate and faculty research. Lowcountry research institutions like SC DNR and NOAA also frequent the library. However, anyone interested in marine sciences may visit the library.
